Utility Account Responsibilities

Landlord

Landlords are responsible for utilities only after the resident disconnects them as required by the lease. Utilities can be placed back into the landlord’s name only after the resident properly terminates their service.

Hometown

Hometown Management does not turn utilities on or off. We only provide provider information as a courtesy; all setup, maintenance, billing, and disconnection must be handled directly by the resident.

Resident

Residents must activate, maintain, and disconnect all utilities in their own name for the full lease term. Hometown Management does not disconnect utilities for residents, and failure to shut them off at move-out is solely the resident’s responsibility.
